Nearly half of American women open to first date sex
Berlin, Germany. 1 February 2019. It can be tough when dating to know the right time to make a move. While some people want to get busy straight away, others prefer to stick to the ‘three date rule’.
But while it used to be considered bad form for a woman to “put out” on the first date, it seems that attitudes are changing. Some experts are even saying sex on the first date could be the best way into a long term relationship.
Dating app Jaumo (www.jaumo.com) conducted a survey among 30,000 of its 40 million users in the US, Canada, UK and Germany to find out how open men and women are to the idea of first date sex.
The results showed that 48% of women in the US think it’s fine to jump in the sack after the first encounter. German women were considerably more conservative, with just 23% agreeing, while 40% of British women would consider the prospect. Canadian women were the most liberal, with a surprising 59% open to first date sex.
Unsurprisingly, men were more open to the idea. 64% of American men and 65% of men in Canada and would opt for sex on the first date, making them less keen than British and German men- 73% and 72% respectively.
American respondents were also more open to unprotected sex outside a relationship, with 48% of men and 43% of women saying they would consider it, compared with 53% of men and 37% of women in the UK, 41% of men and just 8% of women in Germany. On this issue Canadians were once again more liberal, with 65% of men and 59% of women saying they were fine with it.
