Jaumo (jaumo.com) is the first dating app in Europe to introduce live video as an in-app feature, a feature that can even be used before a match occurs. With this new feature, Jaumo pioneers the use of video for first impressions. This is designed so that singles can talk to each other with ease, even in a group, before and after deciding whether a person is a match or not.

London and Berlin, 10 January 2018 – If a picture says more than a thousand words, then a video must say more than a thousand pictures. That is exactly what the people behind Jaumo thought when they developed live video.

“With live video we want to provide our app users with a whole new environment to meet and chat. A video typically gives singles a much better idea of what a person is really like than a photograph,” says Jaumo co-founder Jens Kammerer.

The videos have no time limits. As soon as a user starts their video, other users can watch them live and chat with them via a text field on the screen. All users watching the live video can see every chat within the video. Users can watch live videos before a match occurs and the videos will not be saved on the profile page. This feature is currently available on Android, for users with Android version 6.0 or newer. The launch for iOS is scheduled for early this year.

Registering with Jaumo is straightforward and done in just one step. It is not necessary to link a profile to a social media platform. The process is similar to other dating apps: users swipe right to like a profile. When two users give each other a like, they have a match and can chat with each other. Jaumo focuses on the user and wants everyone to enjoy the app, so there is no place for spammers, scammers and fraudsters. Jaumo sets the standard with its Anti-Fake/Spam-System.
